Summer Stories From Kent Vets

Romney’s Keyhole Spay

Lucky labradoodle Romney had the benefit of our full Briar House Veterinary dream team! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Leanne is soon to be undertaking laparoscopy herself so Enrico was giving a little in-house guidance!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ’• And of course, VCA Megan enjoyed a huggle with Romney before home ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿพ Smaller surgical wound
๐Ÿพ Better and easier healing and recovery
๐Ÿพ Lower anaesthetic required
๐Ÿพ Less pain
๐Ÿพ Less invasive surgery procedure
๐Ÿพ Safer surgical procedure
Please speak to a member of our team if you would like further information.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ We are happy to see your pup for a pre-neutering check also where we can answer all your questions and even show you some behind the scenes videos ๐ŸŽฅ

Gorgeous Pixie

Poor Pixie has been suffering from an Aural Haematoma (blood-filled sac within the ear flap) which can be extremely painful.
She visited Lakeview Vets to have the pressure released and a procedure to help prevent it from reoccurring. She was so totally adorable loving a belly rub at every opportunity ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Here she is with lovely Melissa and some before and after photos!ย We canโ€™t wait to see her again โค๏ธโค๏ธ

A Cheerful Pup

Check out this bundle of fidget…. this is Miley! Getting a photo of her sitting still was quite a task ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Here she is sitting still for 0.5 seconds for a picture with student nurse Sarah! Miley visited Briar House Vets to be assessed by our wonderful orthopaedic surgeon Enrico. As golden retrievers are prone to hip dysplasia, we took some x-rays to assess the ball and socket joints of her pelvis.
Several factors are related to hip dysplasia including

  • excessive growth (which is why it is often seen in large breed dogs),
  • improper types of exercise at a young age,
  • insufficient quality and amount of nutrients through the diet
  • genetic predisposition.

Thankfully, Mileyโ€™s pelvis was in really good shape and looks good for supporting her growing body ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Love for Peaches

Otis has been visiting us at Manor Vets recently as he was really not himself. He wasn’t eating, was vomiting, very off colour and completely unlike his usual self. After some initial treatment including xrays and ultrasounds we thought we could see something suspicious so decided to go into surgery! Luckily we did as we found a peach pit that he had sneakily eaten while his owners weren’t looking.

He is now doing really well at home and we have loved looking after him. He’s been a star patient ๐ŸŒŸ

Our Unique New Patients

Some very kind people brought this poor Mummy Hedgehog at Lakeview Vets ๐Ÿฆ” who was wrapped up in some twine, incredibly she was giving birth!!!โ€™Luckily the twine had not caused her any damage and was removed easily. โค๏ธDonโ€™t these little hedgehog babies look adorable? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Mum and babies are doing well so they have been released in a safe environment, we wish them well โค๏ธโค๏ธ

A Tooth For TJ

Tj is one of our newest clients at Manor Vets and has just recently moved to the UK from Romania, he’s moved in with 3 other furry brothers and has settled really well but was experiencing some pain in his mouth. During his initial consultation, we were able to see a broken tooth so got him booked straight in for surgery to remove it. He’s now at home recuperating and feeling much better ๐Ÿคฉ
